Assembly Steps for HOMCOM Console Table

Putting together your HOMCOM console table is simple. Just follow the steps below in order and you will have it ready in no time.

Step 1: Prepare the Table Legs

Start by fitting the adjustable foot pads to each leg.

  • Turn each table leg upside down
  • Screw one Adjustable Foot Pad (D) into the threaded base of each leg
  • Adjust all feet to the same height for now.

This step ensures the table can sit evenly, even on slightly uneven floors.

Step 2: Build the Frame and Install the Mesh Shelf

This step forms the main structure of the table.

  • Stand the four Table Legs(4) upright.
  • Position the Mesh Shelf Panel (3) between the legs at the lower fixing points.
  • Attach the Mesh Shelf Panel (3) using M6 × 12 Bolts (B) and Hex Nuts (C).
  • Connect the Upper Frame (2) to the tops of the legs using M6 × 12 Bolts (B).

Leave all bolts slightly loose at this stage. This allows the frame to self-align before tightening.

Helpful Tip: Check that the mesh shelf sits flat and centred before moving to the next step.

Step 3: Attach the Tabletop Panel

Once the frame is square, the tabletop can be secured.

  • Place the Tabletop Panel (1) on top of the upper frame
  • Align the pre-drilled holes of Tabletop Panel (1) with Upper Frame(2)
  • Fix the tabletop using M6 × 30 Bolts (A) as shown in the diagram.

Now tighten all bolts evenly, working diagonally from corner to corner. This prevents frame twisting.

Final Checks and Levelling

After tightening all fixings:

  • Stand the table upright
  • Adjust the foot pads individually until the table is stable
  • Press gently on each corner to confirm there is no wobble

FAQs

1. What is standard console table height?

The standard console table height usually falls between 28 and 32 inches. This range works well for hallways, living rooms, and behind sofas, keeping the surface comfortable for display and everyday use.

2. What is a console table used for?

A console table is used for both decoration and function, such as displaying lamps, photos, or artwork while offering light storage. Some designs also include shelves or drawers for added organisation.

3. What is the difference between a console table and a side table?

A side table is mainly functional and placed next to seating for easy reach of items like drinks or books. A console table is typically longer, slimmer, and used as a visual focal point against walls or in entry spaces.

4. What is the difference between a sofa table and a console table?

Console tables are usually narrow and designed to sit against walls or in entryways. Sofa tables are wider and slightly lower, made specifically to sit behind sofas for convenient access to everyday items.

5. Does the console table require wall fixing for stability?

Wall fixing is not necessary when the table is placed on a level surface and correctly adjusted. Positioning it against a wall can improve stability, especially in high-traffic areas.
