Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions
Follow the simple steps below to assemble your HOMCOM Small Armless Office Chair (SKU:921-727V70BK). Each step will guide you through securing the parts in the correct order, ensuring a stable and fully functional chair.
Step 01: Assemble the Wheeled Base

- Insert the Gas-Lift Cylinder (F) into the Five-Star Base (D), ensuring it is securely placed inside the central hole.
- Attach the Gas-Lift Cylinder Cover (F) over the cylinder, making sure it fits tightly in place to prevent movement.
- Insert the Caster Wheels (E) into the ends of the Five-Star Base (D).
- Push them firmly into place until you hear a click, indicating they are fully inserted and secure.
Step 02: Attach the Seat-Tilt Mechanism Plate to the Seat Cushion

- Align the Seat Cushion (Part B) with the Mechanism Plate (H).
- Ensure the holes on the plate line up with the mounting points on the seat as shown in image.
- Insert the M6 × 20 mm bolts (N) into the holes of the Mechanism Plate (H).
- Tighten the bolts using the Allen Key (M) to secure the mechanism plate in place on the seat cushion (B).
Step 03: Attach Backrest Tension Knob & Backrest Bracket

- With the seat cushion (B) still inverted, locate the central threaded hole on the seat-tilt mechanism plate (H).
- Place the spring washer (L) onto the knob first, then place the flat washer (K) on top. The order is critical (L below, K above).
- Inter the Backrest brack(C) into the designated spaces between seat cushion (B) and Seat-tilt mechanism(H) and align the holes as shown in image.
- Thread the Backrest tension knob (G) with washers onto the hole and hand-tighten until snug.
Step 04: Attach the Backrest Shell and Mount the Chair onto the Base

- Turn the seat assembly the right way up.
- Align the top of the backrest bracket (C) with the receiver on the rear of the backrest shell (A) as shown in image.
- Place the Backrest connector – Metal (P) into the Backrest connector cover(J).
- Place the Backrest connector cover (J) over the connection point between the backrest bracket (C) and the backrest shell (A).
- Drive the two M6 × 25 mm bolts (O) through the Backrest connector cover (J) using the Allen key (M).
- Lower the complete seat assembly down onto the gas-lift cylinder already installed in the five-star base and press down firmly until fully seated.
Note: Use the Backrest connector (P) to hold the fastener steady on the opposite side while tightening. Use only the M6 × 25 mm bolts (O) here and not the shorter M6 × 20 mm bolts (N).
Assembly is now complete.

Assembly Check (Before Use)
- All five caster wheels spin freely and roll smoothly.
- The backrest shell does not rock or rattle when pressure is applied.
- The backrest tension knob turns smoothly by hand.
- The seat rises and lowers correctly when the height lever is operated.
- No bolts feel loose, re-tighten with the Allen key (M) if needed.
Safety & Usage Notes

FAQs
1. Can I assemble this chair on my own or do I need a second person?
The chair can be assembled by one person. All steps involve manageable components and the included tools are sufficient. However, having a second person assist during Step 04, when aligning the backrest shell and lowering the seat onto the base, can make the process quicker and easier.
2. In what order should I lay out my parts before starting?
Group your parts into three sets before you begin: base components (D, E, F), seat components (B, G, H), and backrest components (A, C, J). Keep all hardware (K, L, M, N, O, P) in a separate container so small pieces are not lost during assembly.
3. What type of flooring is this chair best suited for?
The chair performs best on hard floors such as wood, laminate, or tile. It also works on low-pile carpet. Avoid use on thick rugs or uneven surfaces as this affects caster movement and chair stability.
