  • Weight limit awareness: Do not overload or sit on unsupported frame edges.
  • Keep children away during assembly: Small hardware may pose choking hazards.

STEP-BY-STEP ASSEMBLY GUIDE

Step 1: Unbox and Prepare All Parts

opened package revealing folded metal bed frame inside the box.

  • Fully open the box flaps to access the folded metal frame inside.
  • Remove each part one by one to avoid pulling from a single corner, preventing bending.
  • Lay all components flat and group them according to the parts list (Mattress, Part A, Part B, Part C, Body, and hardware).
  • Check that all pieces and hardware match the contents list before beginning assembly.

Step 2: Attach the Support Bars (Part C) to the U-Shaped Leg Frames (Part B)

support bars connecting leg frames using bolts.

  • Position both U-Shaped Leg Frames (B) upright on a flat surface, spaced evenly apart so they face each other.
  • Align one Support Bar (C) across the upper hinge points of the leg frames.
  • Insert two M6×35 Bolts (①) through the hinge holes on each side of the Support Bar (C) and into the corresponding holes on Part B.
  • Repeat the same process for the second Support Bar (C), installing it below the first one as shown in the diagram.
  • Using the Allen Key (④), tighten the bolts to approximately 70%, leaving slight movement for later alignment.

Why Only Tighten to 70%?
Part B and C must remain slightly adjustable to ensure the Main Body Base (Part ④) aligns correctly in the next step. Full tightening will be completed after the structure is connected.

Step 3: Attach the Main Body Base (Body) to the Leg Assembly

mesh bed platform aligned and bolted onto leg frame.

  • Lay the Main Body Base flat and fully opened on a clean surface, with the mesh Base hinges facing upward.
  • Position the leg assembly underneath the body Base, aligning the metal hinge brackets on the legs with the mounting holes on the underside of the body frame.
  • Once aligned, insert M6×15 Bolts (②) into each of the four connection points two on each side.
  • Using the Allen Key (④), tighten all four bolts completely to 100%, ensuring the frame is firmly secured.
  • Confirm that the Body Base is centred and the hinges move smoothly when the frame is lifted.

Step 4: Lift and Rotate the Side Bases Upright

side mesh panels rotated upward into standing position.

  • With the Body Base secured, gently lift one side Base upward following the direction shown in the illustration.
  • Rotate the Base until it stands upright at a 90° angle.
  • Repeat for the second side Base.
  • Ensure both bases lock into place evenly without leaning.

Step 5: Install the Folding Support Frames (Part A) onto the Upright Side Bases

support frames attached to upright side panels using bolts.

  • Position each Folding Support Frame (A) above the hinge brackets on the upright side Bases.
  • Lower each frame straight downward, aligning the round hinge holes with the bracket holes.
  • Insert one M6×35 Bolt (①) through each hinge connection point (two on each side).
  • Thread the M6 Nuts (③) onto the bolts from the inside.
  • Use the Allen Key (④) and Spanner (⑤) to tighten each connection to 100%.

Understanding the Locking Sequence (I → II → III → IV):
I — Insert and seat the bolt
II — Begin tightening
III — Hold the nut steady
IV — Final tightening

Step 6: Fully Unfold the Bed Frame and Check All Connections

bed frame opened flat with hinge and bolt safety check.

  • Gently pull the upper frame sections outward.
  • Rotate the mesh bases downward until the entire Body Base lies flat.
  • Ensure hinges open smoothly without resistance.
  • Inspect all bolts, hinge brackets, and corners for proper positioning.

Important Safety Check:

Inspect highlighted hinge areas closely to confirm no bending or misalignment.

Step 7: Place the Mattress onto the Fully Opened Bed Frame

mattress lowered onto expanded mesh bed frame.

  • Ensure the frame is fully extended, level, and stable.
  • Lift and position the mattress over the centre of the platform.
  • Lower it onto the mesh evenly.
  • Adjust so edges sit flush with the frame.

Safety Tip:
Check no bolts or hinges protrude under the mattress.

Final Step: Folding, Securing, and Storing Your Bed (Done)

  1. Lift both ends of the bed upward to fold it toward the centre hinge.
  2. Continue lifting until both sections close together and stand upright on the caster wheels.
  3. Ensure the mattress folds naturally with the frame.
  4. Align support frames and bases so the bed stands vertically without leaning.

FAQs

1. What should I do if the folding bed feels too low to the ground?

If the bed feels too low, you can place it on a thicker rug or a bed riser to add height. Ensure the bed frame is still stable and all joints are secure to avoid compromising safety.

2. How do I clean the mattress of the folding bed without damaging it?

For light cleaning, spot clean the mattress with a mild, fabric-safe detergent and a damp cloth. Avoid soaking the mattress. To keep it fresh, air it out regularly and use a mattress protector to reduce wear.

3. Can the HOMCOM folding bed be used by taller individuals?

While the bed is suitable for most people, taller individuals may find the length a bit limiting. You can opt for a mattress topper or additional padding to enhance comfort, but for extra space, a larger bed might be necessary.
